What is RPET material?
RPET - A new type of environmentally friendly recycled material whose yarn is made from discarded mineral water bottles and Coke bottles, known as Coke bottle environmental protection cloth. Regular PET is one of the most common plastics used in packaging, you will find that most water bottles are made from PET.If you recycle your water bottle or another PET item, it gets ground up and melted into pellets. The resulting pellets are RPET and can be moulded into many shapes. RPET can withstand temperatures up to 70℃. Effectively reduce the use of oil, each ton of finished yarn can save 6 tons of oil, the fabric can be recycled, saving nearly 80% of energy than conventional manufacturing production of polyester fiber, while reducing air pollution, and control the greenhouse effect.

According to Plastics Europe, the packaging sector produces 40.5% of plastic demand in Europe in 2020, and in packaging, PET is everywhere. Plastic bottles take about 700 years to decompose, so getting them out of landfills and waterways is extremely important. In the decomposing process, the bottles are not completely broken down. Consequently, they become tiny microplastic pieces. Even if we can’t see them, they still harm the ecosystem.By not only replacing but reusing that amount of virgin PET, RPET marks a breakthrough in tackling Europe’s plastic waste problem.
The RPET material is really suited to make the non woven shopping bags (bag in the picture above). If we put the two kinds of material together, it’s difficult for you to identify which is RPET, which is traditional polyester. So RPET can make into all kinds of bags the same as the traditional polyester, it’s become more and more popular in the world, especially in the EU & American Countries. Not only reusable shopping bags are made from RPET fabric, but also on top of shoes and clothing can be created from this material. RPET is the more sustainable option.
Statistics by Greener Fabrics: a leading provider of RPET fabrics indicate (comparing to virgin polyester):
2. 65% fewer emissions: 50-65% less Carbon and Sulphur Dioxide
3. Requires 90% less water
